SUMMARY:Eran Harpaz:A Vipassana Retreat: Cultivating the Qualities of the Heart (Brahma Viharas)
DESCRIPTION:About the Vipassana Retreat: Cultivating the Qualities of the Heart (Brahma Viharas) \nThere are moments when simply pausing is enough — to make space for what is always already here.  \nTo set aside the noise\, the familiar pace\, and the constant busyness\, and to become receptive to the to the truth of the heart.  \nIn this retreat\, we will deepen our practice of Vipassana — the cultivation of clear seeing\, meeting experience just as it is — while intentionally nurturing the Brahma Vihāras\, the sublime qualities of the heart: loving-kindness\, compassion\, appreciative joy\, and equanimity.  \nHeld largely in silence\, in the heart of Nalanda’s wild natural surroundings\, we will practice meditation in sitting\, walking\, standing\, lying down\, and mindful movement. The retreat will also include guided meditations\, Dharma talks\, and opportunities for sharing in small groups\, and will be held in English and Hebrew alternately. \n  \nAbout Eran Harpaz \nEran Harpaz has been walking the path of meditation and Buddhist practice since the early 1990s\, when his journey began in Asia and continued through Australia\, Europe\, and Israel. \nOver the years\, his practice has unfolded into a life of teaching\, sharing\, and cultivating the Dharma. He is a senior Dharma teacher with Tovana (The Israeli Insight Meditation Society)\, guiding Vipassana meditation retreats and courses\, and dedicating himself to the flourishing of the Sangha in Israel. \nAlongside teaching\, writing\, and translation\, Eran finds joy in the simple art of tending to life — being a family man\, caring for his garden\, and nurturing the many forms of growth that arise both within and around us. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Shantini/Charlotte Perret and Sri Sathya Kumar Mutturaja:Discover your inner peace with Yoga\, Meditation and Ayurveda.
DESCRIPTION:About the seminar: \nStepping back is essential to understanding our existence. Just as water becomes clear when its surface remains undisturbed\, the body releases tension when allowed to rest\, and the mind clears when not agitated by incessant thoughts. \nWe can discover a profound peace and joy—latent within each of us—waiting for the right conditions to reveal themselves. \nThe days will be paced by meditation\, yoga\, massages\, treatments\, healthy meals\, and excursions to the region’s powerful sites and temples.\nSpecial attention will be paid to each participant to tailor practices and treatments to their individual needs. \n  \nShantini/Charlotte Perret \nSwiss-French acupuncturist\, homeopath\, and naturopath\, Charlotte practices at the Integrative Health Practices Center in Neuchâtel\, Switzerland. \nShe discovered meditation in 1979 during a retreat with the renowned S.N. Goenka in India. Those ten days of silent\, completely isolated practice marked a decisive turning point for her\, as she had found meaning in life. \nOf course\, there were still many experiences to come; in the following years\, she participated in numerous retreats in India\, Thailand\, Burma\, Sri Lanka\, and Europe. \nIn 2017\, when she sought a pleasant location to dedicate herself fully to her practice\, the Nalanda site presented itself to her. \nAfter more than eight years of construction\, Nalanda Retreat Center is now open. It is designed to optimally foster practices such as meditation\, yoga\, and Ayurveda—which means “knowledge of life.” Oil massages\, herbal treatments and healthy nutrition also play an important role in this way of life. \nThe goal is to enable participants to disconnect from daily life and—through the various practices and treatments offered—rediscover inner peace and joy in an inspiring environment. \n  \nSri Sathya Kumar Mutturaga\, manager and director of Nalanda Retreat Center. \nKumar has developed an extensive knowledge of Ayurvedic plants\, their cultivation\, and their therapeutic effects through his work managing several spice gardens in Sri Lanka. \nHe is also an Ayurvedic massage practitioner\, using oils and medicinal herbal compresses. \nHe currently cultivates his own spice garden at Nalanda Centre and we have established a dedicated unit for Ayurvedic treatments\, including massages\, Shirodhara\, and steam baths. \nHis wife\, Renuka\, has mastered the art of Ayurvedic cooking: she skillfully uses local spices to create dishes that are as delicious as they are beneficial to health.
