SUMMARY:Shantini/Charlotte Perret:Daily Group Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Group meditations are scheduled in the morning and in the evening outside of periods of scheduled retreats\, seminars and activities. \nShantini’s practice has evolved from classical Vipassana to Mahamudra\, with Lama Tilmann Lhundrup. She looks forward to sharing her experience with visitors between courses and particularly during the week-long retreat in February. \nThe focus will be on developing awareness of the body and mind in the present moment. Just as water becomes clear when its surface is not disturbed\, our mind becomes clear and spacious when not obstructed and we discover a state of serenity and natural compassion that is our true nature\, but was lost amidst the turmoil of life. \nAbout Charlotte Perret / Shantini \nCharlotte took her first Vipassana course in 1979 with the renowned S.N. Goenka in India. This 10-day experience of meditation in complete isolation and silence was a major turning point in her life. She felt she had understood everything and that she could never fall back into depression because she had found the meaning of life. \nOf course\, there was still much to discover and in the following years\, she joined many retreats in India\, Thailand\, Burma\, Sri Lanka\, and also in Europe. \nIn 2017\, when the time came to settle in a pleasant place to dedicate her life to  practice\, the Nalanda site appeared. Construction lasted more than eight years\, and the Center is now open to allow other practitioners to develop their practice in a charming environment.

SUMMARY:Marie Mannschatz and Stefanie Balz:Silent Metta RetreatCOMPLETE
DESCRIPTION:Marie Mannschatz \nMarie Mannschatz is an internationally renowned meditation teacher. After working for twenty years in private practice as a Gestalt and body therapist\, she trained as a Vipassana teacher in the 1990s with Jack Kornfield at the Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California. There\, she and her teacher taught numerous multi-week silent retreats over the next ten years. \nStefanie Baltz \nStefanie Baltz is a long-time student and teaching assistant of Marie Mannschatz. Since 2021\, she has been co-leading the program with Marie. She has worked as a psychotherapist in her own practice for over 30 years. From 2009 to 2012\, she completed yoga teacher training. Since then\, in addition to her psychotherapeutic work\, she has been active as a yoga and Metta meditation teacher. \n  \nWe all carry a great treasure within us\, whose power and diversity only become apparent when we thoroughly polish it through our meditation practice. Daily life often throws us into a haze of conflicts\, overwhelming demands\, and obstacles. In this retreat\, we strengthen our ability to set boundaries\, enabling us to wisely regulate intense emotions. All our charming imperfections deserve attention and acceptance. We open our compassionate hearts and give space to what is uncomfortable. In this way\, restlessness and doubt can dissolve and transform into inner peace. \nDynamic yoga sessions in the morning invigorate us and energize us for the day. They awaken joy\, vitality\, and lightness. Mindful\, loving yoga in the evening supports the process of opening the heart and letting go. Walking and sitting meditation alternate\, and there are guided meditations\, talks\, and discussions in small groups. \n

SUMMARY:Eran Harpaz:A Vipassana Retreat: Cultivating the Qualities of the Heart (Brahma Viharas)
DESCRIPTION:There are moments when simply pausing is enough — to make space for what is always already here.  \n To set aside the noise\, the familiar pace\, and the constant busyness\, and to become receptive to the to the truth of the heart.  \n In this retreat\, we will deepen our practice of Vipassana — the cultivation of clear seeing\, meeting experience just as it is — while intentionally nurturing the Brahma Vihāras\, the sublime qualities of the heart: loving-kindness\, compassion\, appreciative joy\, and equanimity.  \n Held largely in silence\, in the heart of Nalanda’s wild natural surroundings\, we will practice meditation in sitting\, walking\, standing\, lying down\, and mindful movement. The retreat will also include guided meditations\, Dharma talks\, and opportunities for sharing in small groups\, and will be held in English and Hebrew alternately. \nAbout Eran Harpaz \nEran Harpaz has been walking the path of meditation and Buddhist practice since the early 1990s\, when his journey began in Asia and continued through Australia\, Europe\, and Israel. \nOver the years\, his practice has unfolded into a life of teaching\, sharing\, and cultivating the Dharma. He is a senior Dharma teacher with Tovana (The Israeli Insight Meditation Society)\, guiding Vipassana meditation retreats and courses\, and dedicating himself to the flourishing of the Sangha in Israel. \nAlongside teaching\, writing\, and translation\, Eran finds joy in the simple art of tending to life — being a family man\, caring for his garden\, and nurturing the many forms of growth that arise both within and around us.

SUMMARY:Natasha Tsagarakou:Purifying the 5 elements through the 5 aspects of timeless awareness: creating a bridge between yoga and mahamudra
DESCRIPTION:10-day yoga and mahamudra meditation retreat in Nalanda\, Sri Lanka. \nThese 10 days are an invitation to reset our body and mind\, release the stale energy and recharge through yoga\, pranayama and meditation. Through gentle and regular practice\, we will build our individual capacity and gradually progress to more subtle levels of awareness. \nBeing a reflection of the outer world\, our bodies in their inner form are made up of the same 5 elements. This is widely believed both in Yoga and in Tibetan buddhism. When purified\, the raw energies of the fundamental elements and their corresponding afflictions -the “five poisons”- naturally reveal the five primordial qualities of a buddha mind. \nIn this retreat\, we will use yoga\, pranayama and visualization to purify and balance the elemental energies; and through mahamudra meditation\, we will explore how they can be transformed into wisdom\, which naturally unfolds when mind recognizes their essential nature as pure\, empty and luminous. \n  \nAbout me\, Natasha Tsagarakou \n  \nFor a big period of my life I was involved with university studies. I studied Languages\, Translation and Interpreting\, and then did second studies in Anthropology. I have worked in both fields professionally\, both as a translator and interpreter and as a researcher anthropologist. \nI have been studying and practising yoga since 2007 following the tradition of Bihar School of Yoga. I trained as a yoga teacher in India\, at Rikhiapeeth ashram in Bihar\, in 2012 and have been teaching yoga since then. In 2007 I also met the dharma through my teacher\, lama Lhundrup (Tilmann Borghardt)\, and have been since then practising in the Karma Kagyu tradition. I completed six years of retreat in Gruner Baum\, the Ekayana Retreat Center in Germany\, between 2016 and 2022. I’ve also been translating and organizing the annual Mahamudra Retreat in Greece with lama Lhundrup for the past 15 years\, and recently I finished the translation into Greek of the book by 9th Karmapa\, “Mahamudra\, The Ocean of True Meaning”. At present\, I’m a student at the three-year program Mahamudra Foundation Course in KIBI\, India. \n In 2024 I was certified as an EPT therapist\, after completing the three-year training in Essential Psychotherapy in Strasbourg. \nI’m also a trained Ku-Nye Tibetan Massage therapist\, certified by Shang Shung Institute\, School of Tibetan Medicine. \nSometimes I work as a cook.
