For those who wish to arrive with simplicity and peace of mind, traveling with our official center driver is the most effortless path. You will be gently brought from your point of arrival directly to the retreat center, allowing you to let go of logistics and begin settling inward. This is the most direct and harmonious way to enter the space.

With public transportation

By Public Transportation For those who feel called to a slower, more mindful approach, arriving by public transportation offers a journey through the landscape and a gradual transition into retreat. Each connection becomes an opportunity to observe, breathe, and arrive step by step. We are happy to provide detailed guidance to support you along the way.

From Colombo
1. Colombo to Matale: Take a big government bus or small express bus.
2. From Matale to Dambulla. Take a bus and exit at village “Hunganwella” about 35 min after departure. Ask the driver.
3. From Hunganwella to the Center: A tuktuk can bring you to the Nalanda Retreat Center located in the next village „Meegolla” 2 km away for about 200.- Rupees.
4. Depending on the day and time you arrive: Kumar might also pick you up at the bus stop in Hunganwella. You can call Kumar once you are at the bus stop: 077 623 85 92.

1. Negombo to Kurunegala:
Big red Government Bus (3 or 4 h: fast, but many stops) OR big blue or white Private Bus (3 or 4 h: less stops sometimes, but not as fast as Red Bus) OR small Express Bus (2h: very fast and most comfortable)

2. From Kurunegala to Dambulla
Government or Private Bus (There might also be a bus directly from Negombo to Dambulla) About 2 h with red or blue public bus.

3. From Dambulla in direction to Kandy:
After about 30 min: Exit at village “Hunganwella”

4. From Hunganwella to the Center:
A tuktuk can bring you to the Nalanda Retreat Center located in the next village „Meegolla” 2 km away for about 200.- Rupees.

5. Depending on the day and time you arrive:
