SREKUMAR GOPALAN (KUMAR VAIDYAR)

Ayurvedic Physician (VSAMT)
Naturopathic Practitioner (NVS)
Spa Expert

For many centuries, Ayurvedic Vaidyas were practically the only way for people in Kerala to be healed of any kind of ailment. Kumar Vaidya comes from an old family in Kerala, South India. The ancestors of this family were traditional Vaidyas. In ancient India, there were no educational institutions that offered courses related to Ayurveda. Each generation in a Vaidya’s family acquired sound knowledge and practical experience in Ayurvedic treatment from their ancestors. In India at that time, people trusted these traditional Vaidyas. A professional course in Ayurveda was first offered at Madras University.

The grandfather of Kumar Vaidya’s mother (Dr. Narayanan) was the first graduate to complete a course in Ayurveda in Travancore, a part of ancient Kerala.

Kumar Vaidya’s desire to learn about the culture and lifestyles of people in different countries led him to work on several cruise ships around the world and in 4/5-star hotels in the Maldives, Greece, Germany, and Switzerland. The diverse experiences he gained there supported his decision to build a career in line with his passion for Ayurveda. Since his great enthusiasm and commitment to Ayurvedic health principles ignited, he has completed various training programs in Ayurvedic and Kalari therapies. He has also trained as a yoga teacher and completed further training in meditation and various spa therapies. In 2002, he moved to Germany. Today, he is one of the most well-known figures in Europe in the field of Ayurveda and is recognized by the VSAMT (Association for Swiss Ayurvedic Medicine & Therapy) in Switzerland.
